Installing the App
N4 Safety is a Progressive Web App (PWA) — a web application you can install directly to your phone’s home screen. There is no App Store or Google Play download required. It installs in seconds and behaves like a native app once on your device.
What Is the App?
The platform runs in your web browser, but when installed as a PWA it:
- Launches instantly from your home screen icon — no address bar, no browser chrome.
- Caches key assets so the interface loads quickly even on slow connections.
- Locks to portrait orientation, optimized for field use.
- Works identically to the browser version — same features, same data, same account.
Installing the app is optional but strongly recommended for Safety Team Members serving on duty. The dedicated mobile layout, BottomNav bar, and quick-entry Patrol Log are designed for phone use in the field.
Installing on iOS (Safari)
You must use Safari on iOS. Installing from Chrome, Firefox, or other iOS browsers is not supported by Apple.
Open the Platform in Safari
Navigate to your organization’s N4 Safety URL in Safari on your iPhone or iPad.
Tap the Share Button
Tap the Share icon at the bottom of the Safari toolbar (the square with an arrow pointing up).
Tap “Add to Home Screen”
Scroll down in the share sheet and tap Add to Home Screen.
Confirm the Name and Add
The app name will pre-fill. Tap Add in the top-right corner.
The N4 Safety icon will appear on your home screen. Tap it to launch directly into the platform.
Installing on Android (Chrome)
Open the Platform in Chrome
Navigate to your organization’s N4 Safety URL in Chrome on your Android device.
Open the Browser Menu
Tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner of Chrome.
Tap “Install App” or “Add to Home Screen”
You may see either label depending on your Android version. Tap it.
Confirm
Tap Install in the prompt that appears.
The N4 Safety icon will appear in your app drawer and can be added to your home screen from there.

Logging In
Your session persists after install — if you were already logged in on the browser, you may be logged in immediately when you open the app. If not, log in once with your credentials and your session will be maintained for future launches.
The installed app and the browser version share the same account. Any logs, check-ins, or reports you create on one are immediately visible on the other.
If your organization requires multi-factor authentication, you will complete that step the first time you log in on a new device or after a session expires. After that, your session is maintained automatically.
