Notification Preferences

Control what email notifications you receive from N4 Safety.

What Notifications Are Available?

The platform may send emails for:

Notification TypeDescription
Schedule RemindersUpcoming shift reminders before your assignment.
Swap RequestsWhen someone requests or accepts a swap.
Critical BulletinsHigh-priority safety alerts.
Policy UpdatesNew or updated policies requiring acknowledgement.
Compliance RemindersExpiring certifications or overdue items.
Training AnnouncementsNew training sessions available for signup.

Critical Bulletins may always be sent regardless of your preferences, as they’re essential for safety operations.

Accessing Notification Settings

  1. Click Profile in the sidebar.
  2. Look for the “Notifications” or “Preferences” section.
  3. Toggle individual notification types on or off.

How to Change Preferences

Toggle Email Notifications

Each notification type typically has a toggle switch:

  • On — You’ll receive emails for this type.
  • Off — Emails are suppressed (in-app notifications may still appear).

Save Your Changes

After adjusting toggles, click “Save” or “Update Preferences”.

What You Can’t Turn Off

Some notifications are mandatory for operational safety:

  • Critical Bulletins — Essential alerts about threats or urgent safety matters.
  • Account Security — Password reset confirmations and security notices.

Think carefully before turning off Schedule Reminders. Missing a shift impacts your team.

Email vs. In-App Notifications

Even if you turn off email notifications, you’ll still see alerts when you log in.

Tips

  • Keep Critical Bulletins on — These are rare and important.
  • Use reminders wisely — If you’re already disciplined about checking the app, you may not need all email reminders.
  • Check spam folders — If you’re not receiving expected emails, check your spam/junk folder.

Troubleshooting

Not receiving any emailsCheck your spam folder. Verify your email address is correct.
Receiving too many emailsAdjust your preferences to turn off non-essential notifications.
Can’t find notification settingsLook under Profile > Preferences or Settings.
Emails seem delayedEmail delivery can take a few minutes. Check spam if missing.
