Reading a Policy
Before acknowledging a policy, you should read and understand it. Here’s how to access and review policy content.
Accessing a Policy
- Navigate to Policies in the sidebar.
- Find the policy you want to read.
- Click on the policy card to open it.
Policy Details Page
When you open a policy, you’ll see:
| Section | Description |
|---|---|
| Title | The policy name. |
| Category | Type of policy (e.g., Operations, Safety, Conduct). |
| Version | Current version number (e.g., v2.1). |
| Effective Date | When this version became active. |
| Status | Active, Archived, or Draft. |
| Your Status | Whether you’ve acknowledged this version. |
Viewing the Document
Policies are typically uploaded as PDF files. The platform provides:
In-Browser Preview
For supported file types (PDF, images), you can view the document directly in your browser:
- Click the “View” or “Preview” button.
- The document opens in a viewer panel.
- Scroll through the entire document.
Take your time reading the full policy. You’re confirming you understand it when you acknowledge.
Download Option
If you prefer, click “Download” to save the file locally. This is useful for:
- Reading offline
- Printing a physical copy
- Referencing later
Version History
If a policy has been updated:
- Previous versions may still be accessible.
- Your past acknowledgements show which version you signed.
- Leadership can see the full history of policy changes.
When a new version is released, you’ll need to read and acknowledge the updated content — even if changes are minor.
Tips for Reading Policies
- Read before signing — Acknowledgement means you understand and will follow the policy.
- Note key changes — If it’s an updated version, pay attention to what’s different.
- Ask questions — If something is unclear, contact your Safety Leadership before signing.
